My name is Melissa, and I am a qualified integrative counsellor.
Before I became a counsellor and creative wellbeing and mindfulness coach, I spent 15 years in the HR Industry, working with people at all levels of the organisation. My passion has always been helping people and I wanted to do more to support people to improve their emotional health and wellbeing. This is the reason I decided to change my career to counselling.
Since changing in 2017, I have worked in supportive roles in mental health charities, a GP Surgery and a community family support programme. This has provided me with a range of experience, tools, techniques, and resources for working with a mixture of issues.
I am also a certified confident hearts creative wellbeing and mindfulness coach, and this, along with a wealth of additional training, has really helped me to be able to provide a wide range of coping strategies to clients who are suffering from overwhelming and disturbing emotions and the physical symptoms that can come along with high levels of anxiety or feelings of numbness and detachment.
I have lots of experience facilitating wellbeing groups and I love to design new programmes and workshops that will provide people with the tools and techniques to improve their emotional wellness. I create a warm, welcoming space, where people can do this.
I believe that people have the power within, no matter how emotionally disturbed they may feel, to make lasting changes and improve their circumstances; 'one day at a time, one step at a time, one breath at a time'.
